Just came back from watching movies @ GSC Dataran Pahlawan. It’s my first time watching movie there. I felt that the design, the ‘atmosphere’ and everything is better than MBO…
Ok, let’s see. Parked my car at Hatten Square as I only need to pay RM2 for the parking fee, which is way cheaper than the DP’s parking fee. My sis and I crossed the link bridge and went straight to GSC to buy tickets. Bought tickets for 2 shows, Lelio Popo @ 12pm and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader (3D) @ 2.20pm. Each of us spent RM 23 on these 2 shows, RM 17 for 3D and RM 6 for Lelio Popo.
Since I bought the tickets at 11.50am and Lelio Popo is going to start at 12pm, so we just waited for awhile before going into the cinema hall 8 and find our seats (F07, F08). Ok, found our seats, settled down and wait for the show to start. I felt weird coz when I’m choosing the seats, the seats beside me is taken, but there’s nobody sitting there, so I guess they’ll come later. Just few minutes before the show starts, they came and keep on wondering whether it’s their seat or not. One of them said to his friend: “Are you sure we’re in the right cinema hall? This is hall 8, right? There’s somebody sitting at my place F08 (which referred to me).” Oh God, that made me thought that I have the wrong seat, so I double-checked my ticket and seat number. I even asked my sis to double-check again. Lol!!! After some chit-chatting with his friend, he came to me and ask: “Ini tempat ada orang punya tak?” In my heart, I was thinking: “WTH? Why are you asking me in BM?? If I don’t understand Mandarin or Cantonese, I won’t be bothered to watch this show. Common sense PLZ!” And of course, I answered him back in Mandarin: “沒有啊。” The row behind me laughed when I answered him back in Mandarin. Too bad I didn’t notice his reaction, that would be funny, don’t you think so??
And the show started. It’s an enjoyable show, except that the same guy as I mentioned above sat beside me, kept on revealing the spoilers to his friend, which ruined my enjoyment. It’s ok to tell spoilers to your friend but don’t tell it so loud until I can hear you. So annoying! There’s some very touching scenes which almost make me shed my tears…
Ok, Lelio Popo ended at 1.42pm. There’s roughly half an hour before Narnia starts. We hurried to the McD. Never thought the journey would be this long, +/- 10 mins from GSC to McD, with speed walking, ‘potong jalan’ and avoiding ppl. Reached McD. Oh my gosh! That’s lots of ppl, but no choice, must eat. So just queue up. After paying and got the food, it’s already 2.08pm. We finished our food in less than 10 mins, and hurried back to the cinema. Ah! We going to be late for the show! Same trick again, speed walking, ‘potong jalan’ and avoiding ppl, even at the escalator.
Reached hall 7, got the 3D specs, went into the hall. Ah! It’s already started, the title “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader” is out, so we quickly find our seats and sat down. Fuhhh… I was sweating like hell… Ok, I’m fine now, continue to watch the show with 3D specs. I was wondering what’s the difference watching with and without 3D specs, so I took off my specs and the image on screen seems blur. At some point, I can feel the image is coming out of the screen, but not too much. I wondered whether it’s because of the seating, mine is the middle seat… Perhaps a few seats away from the middle is better, idk, just a guess…
There’s no subtitle, maybe subtitle will affect the 3D effect? Idk… And to my relieve, there’s no one revealing the spoilers, but there’s new problem, there’s some awful smell coming from my right side. I need to cover my nose, I really hate that smell… Back to the movies, I really love the British accent, it’s so ___, Idk how should I describe it, haha… Since it’s my first time watching 3D movie, so I have no comment about the 3D effect. IMO, the sea monster is very disgusting and the rest are ok. Watching 3D is kinda dizzy at first, but felt better later. I’m not used to wear specs, so I have an urge to take off the specs, coz I feel like something is blocking my view and heavy….
Lesson of the Day, don’t go to somewhere far to eat if you’re rushing for time! Even if it’s just 10 minutes, but to and fro will make it 20 minutes! I have learnt my lesson…
